What Industrial 3D Printing Means

The phrase "industrial 3D printing" gets used loosely. We mean printers and processes capable of producing end-use parts that meet engineering specifications repeatably. That requires temperature-controlled build chambers, calibrated lasers, certified powder lots, post-processing under controlled conditions, and a quality system documenting every step. It also requires materials with published mechanical properties, not hobby-grade filaments.

3D Printzkart's Bangalore facility runs EOS, HP MJF, and SLM Solutions class equipment for industrial work. We supply parts to aerospace tier-1 suppliers, medical device OEMs, automotive contract manufacturers, and DGCA-certified drone makers across India.

Industrial Technologies Available

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)

Best for plastic production parts at 1-5,000 unit volumes. PA12, PA11, glass-filled nylon, carbon-fiber nylon, and TPU. Build volumes up to 380 × 285 × 380 mm. Layer thickness 0.10-0.12 mm. Ideal for housings, ducts, brackets, and complex assemblies that would otherwise require multiple machined or molded parts.

DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering)

Fully dense metal parts in stainless steel 316L, 17-4PH, aluminum AlSi10Mg, titanium Ti6Al4V, Inconel 718, and tool steel. Build volume 250 × 250 × 325 mm. Used for aerospace brackets, medical implants, conformal-cooled tooling inserts, hydraulic manifolds, and heat exchangers.

HP Multi Jet Fusion

For volumes 100-10,000+ in PA12 and TPU. Faster cycle than SLS for medium-batch production with isotropic mechanical properties.

Large-Format FDM

Industrial FDM up to 600 × 600 × 600 mm in PEEK, PEI/Ultem, polycarbonate, and carbon-PA. Used for aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures, and large prototypes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are 3D printed parts strong enough for production use?

SLS PA12 and DMLS metal parts meet or exceed the mechanical properties of injection-molded or cast equivalents in many applications. We routinely supply end-use brackets, ducts, housings, and structural parts to OEMs.

How repeatable is industrial 3D printing?

Within a single build, parts hold ±0.2 mm on SLS and ±0.1 mm on DMLS. Batch-to-batch we use calibration test prints and powder lot tracking to maintain consistency.

Can you do AS9100 or ISO 13485 work?

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified. AS9100 and ISO 13485-aligned work is supported via documented controls. Contact us for documentation requirements specific to your industry.

What is the maximum part size?

SLS up to 380 × 285 × 380 mm, DMLS up to 250 × 250 × 325 mm, large-format FDM up to 600 × 600 × 600 mm. Larger parts are printed as bonded sections.

Can you do post-machining and finishing?

Yes. CNC finishing of critical features, vibratory tumbling, bead blasting, vapor smoothing, dyeing, painting, and electroplating are all available in-house or via qualified partners.
